A commemoration was held on 28th June 2015 to mark the 200th Anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo. The day was a great success, enjoyed by over 7,000 visitors from the local area and further afield.
The celebrations centred around the Penielheugh monument, with a battle re-enactment, marching bands, a beating of the retreat, bonfire and daylight fireworks display.
Thank you to all who came – and to those local riders who participated in the re-enactment! We hope you enjoyed yourselves despite the torrential downpour half way through the day!
