The Rose Garden

Descending a sandstone stairway surrounded on either side by fragrant Peter Beale musk Roses edged again by formal Box, the visitor then enters the sunken Rose Garden. With an almost Mediterranean feel emanating from its warm York sandstone structure. It is abundantly planted on the lower terrace with David Austin old English Musk Roses again formally surrounded with Box edging.

Although mainly a summer garden, it also benefits from a colourful spring Rockery planted with cascading Aubretia, Arabis and Arenaria.
