The main garden at Monteviot is the River garden, a mixed garden of trees, shrubs and herbaceous perennials all richly crammed into twelve separate borders following the perimeter shape of the garden. Originally created in the 1960's by garden designer Percy Cane, it has now been extended to the river Teviot. Its varied and plentiful planting interest begins with flowering Exochorda in April stretching through to the Michaelmas Daisy in October.![]()
