The ArboretumBegun in the mid 19th century, the Monteviot Arboretum is a magnificent collection of conifer and broad leaf specimens of trees found throughout the world. New trees are continuously added including specialist oaks such as the Black Oak (quercus velutina) and Turners Oak - a splendid evergreen. These supplement the long established Douglas firs (pseudotsuga menziesii), noblefirs(abies procera), and broad leafs such as the variegated beech and Spanish Chestnut (castanea sativa).
